LATE 2015 IMAC FUSION DRIVE VS SSD INSTALL
While I would like to keep costs minimal, it makes sense that if I'm going to go through the trouble of opening the iMac up to install the SATA SSD, I might as well go ahead and update the flash/SSD storage as well. The OS won't fit on it by itself, maybe a couple apps will, but seems like it's too small to really be of use. The only problem with swapping out the HDD for one of the above is that I'll have the 24GB blade (from the fusion drive) just chilling there with no real reason for use. If I decide to use one of these, I'll just get a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter to make it fit.
LATE 2015 IMAC FUSION DRIVE VS SSD UPGRADE
I want to upgrade it to full SSD, and will be doing the upgrade internally, so please do not suggest the external SSD option.Ĭurrently in my possession: Samsung 1 TB Evo 850 Samsung 500 GB Evo 860 I've recently acquired a late 2015 iMac with a 1TB Fusion drive.
